The new appointee assumes the leadership position at the development studio following the exit of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to the game's disappointing unveiling last autumn.

The community feedback from last fall’s the game demo was revealing. It affirmed the potential of a roguelike shooter but indicated we still had improvements to make. It uncovered the necessity for a clearer brand.
The progress is encouraging to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the criticism to consideration and overhauled the title with a refreshed goal - one that’s ready to deliver on its potential to our fans.
Our confidence in this project increases every day. To advance the remarkable advancement you’ve made, I’m excited to announce Ben Brinkman as the new Lead of the team. Following several months of discussions, Ben comes aboard us on Monday, October 20.
His guidance and experience in the PVP shooter space is vast, having devoted the past decade and a half creating and leading some of the most well-known titles in gaming, for example Call of Duty: Black Ops, and more recently, Apex Legends.
